2012 Nissan Maxima

Nissan's Maxima large sedan has come in for a light update ahead of the 2012 model year, gaining new safety features and a neat new rear shade system. For 2012, the top-shelf Maxima 350 Ti gains Nissan's Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), switching the car's low-beam lights on and adjusting the lighting pattern based on steering input.

Another neat trick for the AFS system is its ability to use the indicator switch to light the left-turn corner while the vehicle is stopped at an intersection and indicating left.
The 350 Ti also picks up a new Side View Camera on the passenger side, giving the driver a clear view of the car's front left-hand-side.

An electric rear sunshade has been added to the 350 Ti, controlled manually by a switch but also automatically retracting when the reverse gear is engaged.
The 250 ST-L and 350 ST-S variants have not been left out of the bargain, with both gaining a Bluetooth hands-free system with steering-mounted controls.
